Car sales in India is definitely not in a good shape, and most automakers are trying everything to sustain in the market. Launching more affordable products has always proven to be the best counter strategy during the slowdown, and same is going to happen in the coming festive months. High interest rates, rising fuel prices and economic downturn have hurt auto sales.

The auto industry until recently growing at 30 per cent a year has turned into one trouble by huge discounts, showrooms full of unsold cars, and chronic overcapacity. However, global investment bank Macquarie says growth will be skewed in favor of companies that introduce new models/variants.

October – the festive month is considered to be the best time in India, when most automakers bring their best product. So here is a list of 9 car models that will be launched this-month, as per our knowledge;

 

1)  2014 Bentley Continental Flying Spur –

2014 Bentley Continental Flying Spur is faster, more powerful and more efficient – and company bosses say they have resolved the refinement issues that hindered the outgoing model. The new Flying Spur made its public debut at the Geneva Motor Show earlier this year and has been quick to come to our shores. The 6.0-litre twin-turbo W12 now delivers 616bhp at 6000rpm (up from 552bhp). It is linked to a new eight-speed ZF automatic gearbox that shifts in under 200 milliseconds. The top speed remains at 321kph.

Source close to us reveal that the Vento TSI is scheduled for a soft launch on October 3 in India. Like the Polo GT, we expect the Vento to get a GT badge at the front grille, at the sides and rear, and also might offer better looking alloy wheels on the Vento GT. Major change will be on the heart, the Vento GT TSI will not only borrow the 105PS 1.2 TSI engine from the Polo GT, and also may get the dual-clutch automatic transmission.

 

3)  2013 Skoda Octavia –

Skoda Auto recently launched the 2013 Octavia globally. This third generation model has been completely re-designed both inside, outside and has drawn inspiration from the Vision D concept. owever, this is set to change tomorrow with the launch of the eagerly awaited all new Octavia. The new Octavia has received rave reviews at many places and is expected to replace the ageing Laura in India. The new Octavia will have a 1.8-litre petrol and a 2.0-litre diesel engine currently being used in the Laura and the Superb.

 

4)  Ashok Leyland Stile –

Ashok Leyland is all-set the launch its seven-seater Stile on October 5. Ashok Leyland and Nissan have a technical agreement in place, and the Stile looks like a low cost version of the Evalia – it is likely to be priced significantly lower than the latter. The Stile will be available as a 7-seater option and in three variants. However, an 8-seater variant will be added later. There is a choice of petrol/CNG and diesel engines for the Stile. On the inside, the Stile retains the spacious airy cabin of the Evalia but lose out on some creature comforts.

 

5)  Nissan Terrano –

Nissan will launch its variant of the Renault Duster, called the Terrano on the 9th of October. The company dealers across the country have started taking pre-orders for the car on their own. To be launched at an introductory price of Rs 8.50 lakh, the Terrano SUV will be launched in a total 5 trims namely XE, XL, XL+ XV and XV premium.  There will only be just one petrol variant sporting the same 1.6-litre, 4-cylinder petrol mill, while the diesel version will have two power output version of the same 1.5-litre K9K diesel mill, just like the Duster.

 

6)  New Toyota Innova –

Toyota Kirloskar Motors, Indian arm of Toyota Motors will launch an all-new Innova facelift on 9th October in India. The Innova facelift will get minor changes both on the inside and outside. The Innova facelift has gone through some styling tweaks both at the front and rear end, which make it look more refreshed and dynamic than the existing version. While the front fascia of the Innova facelift has received a large chrome grille and a newly designed bumper with chorme surrounds for the fog lamps, the rear too receives a slightly tweaked bumper and chrome enhancement. There will be no mechanical change, so the same 2.0-litre petrol and 2.5-litre diesel engines will continue to power the vehicle.

BMW India has officially revealed that they will launch the all-new 2014 BMW 5-Series facelift in India on 10th Oct 2013. First introduced in Europe early-3013, the new 5-Series sedan features slight exterior design changes, some refinements to the interior control display, and increased the storage compartments, cup holders, etc… However, no change in engine option or trims is expected on the new 5-Series. Engine options will continue to be 1 petrol and 2 diesel, 2.0-litre petrol, 2.0-litre diesel (2 tunes) and 3.0-litre diesel.

2014 Land Rover Range Rover Sport that made its debut at the 2013 New York Auto Show earlier this year, is now all-set to make its entry into the Indian market on October 17th. The vehicle has already gone on-sale in Britain. The company claims it to be the fastest SUV ever produced by Land Rover. In India, the Range Rover Sport will be available in both petrol and diesel variants. The petrol variant will be empowered with 5.0-litre supercharged V8 engine that will zoom out the power of 515 bhp and torque of 625 Nm, accelerating the speed of 100 kmph with the span of five seconds and pick up the high speed of 250 kmph. On the other side the diesel variant will be enriched with 3.0-litre diesel engine churning the power of 294 bhp and torque of 600 Nm. The diesel engine will accelerate the speed of 100 kmph within the period of 7 seconds and get up the top speed of 220 kmph.

Home-grown car manufacturer, Tata Motors will finally launch its entry-level car Nano equipped with CNG kit christened as ‘Tata Nano eMAX’. The Nano eMAX with CNG is fitted with an intelligent EMS system to alternate between CNG and gasoline fuel systems. The vehicle also come fitted with software so as to automatically cut-off CNG supply while keeping a close eye on fuel quality. Tata Motors has opened bookings of the Nano CNG at dealers in Delhi and Mumbai. The Nano eMAX will not be sold across India, since CNG fuel stations don’t exist across the nation. The CNG fuel stations are limited to bigger cities like Delhi, Mumbai and Pune, the Nano eMAX will be sold only in such cities.
