TVS Motor Company launches 2012 StaR City priced at Rs. 38,650/-



StaR City 2012

TVS Motor launched its 2012 edition of the StaR City. The new StaR City has dual tone body colours with six new colour combinations and a new headlamp design. TVS has also added clear lens indicators to the package. Available with a five-year warranty, TVS has priced the base version of Star City at Rs 38,650 ex-showroom Delhi.

Powered by an 110cc CVTi (Continuous Variable Timing Ignition) engine, the StaR City produces 8.2 BHP of peak power at 7500 RPM and 8.1 Nm of peak torque at 5000 RPM. Mated to a 4-speed gearbox, the bike returns 83.9 kmpl as per ARAI.TVS has also kitted the bike with an econometer which helps the rider to ride in the correct economy zone.

TVS Motor Company’s president–marketing, H S Goindi at the launch said, “This new motorcycle is a winning combination of executive class features and vibrant styling. The backing of high fuel efficiency and toughness will make TVS StaR City a much sought after motorcycle.”

India's largest car manufacturer Maruti Suzuki today launched its limited addition of  A-Star model, called A-Star Aktiv. This model is available in Vxi and Vxi AT variants. The A-star Aktiv will have a base price tag of Rs 4.22 lakh for the VXi  version and Rs 4.73 lakh for the VXi AT, both ex-showroom Delhi. A-star Aktiv sports as many changes in exterior as well as interior, exterior gives more sporty looks with side body graphics, off-set racing stripe, red rear-view door mirrors, spoiler and fog lamp cover and blackened film on the B-pillar. The interior gets new seat covers, steering wheel cover, floor mats, rear parcel tray, door sill guard and a keyless entry cum vehicle security system. But there will be no changes in technical specifications and the A-Star Aktiv is powered by the existing 998cc, K10B motor that produces 67PS of power at 6,200rpm and 90Nm of torque at 3,500rpm. The ARAI claimed fuel efficiency stays the same at 19kmpl. "To bring vibrancy and excitement to the market, Maruti Suzuki India has introduced limited edition of A-Star, christened as A-Star Aktiv.
