TVS Apache 200 tastefully modified into an Adventure Tourer

The TVS Apache has been around for more than a decade and has come a long way since the first 150cc model was launched. TVS recently launched their new flagship, the Apache 200! This model seems to be by far the best one, in terms of aesthetics, performance and even quality.

The Apache 200 has now found its place in the garages and hearts of many in and out of India too. Yes, TVS has been exporting the Apache 200 and this motorcycle has a pretty big fan following out there too, so much so that, enthusiastic fans have been modifying this motorcycle into crazy machines exactly like this one.

When looked at for the first time, the motorcycle featured in this article would seem to many as an adventure sport motorcycle manufactured by some European motorcycle manufacturer, but the fact is that, this proud owner of the TVS Apache 200 has modified his motorcycle into this mean machine.

The owner, who is based out of Jakarta, seems to be a fan of Adventure Touring motorcycles, has done quite a lot of aesthetic modifications on the motorcycle in order to make it look and feel like one. The handlebar, switchgear, instrument console, tail lamp and rear registration number plate holder have been kept stock

The swingarm is new and seems to be lifted off a bigger adventure tourer. The front end gets bigger headlamps with a huge windshield mounted right above it. The Fuel tank too is custom made. This, combined with the half fairing and the faux deltabox chassis makes the motorcycle look really good, giving it that beefy adventure sport look. Some other additions to the motorcycle are the knuckle guards up front and the Givi Pannier boxes at the rear, completing the adventure tourer looks.

We have no information about the engine yet, whether it is stock or has been modified, but going by the looks of the rear sprocket in the pictures, it sure looks like the gearing of the motorcycle has been modified for more torque than outright speed, which is the exact characteristic feature of an adventure tourer.

While this is an individual customer attempt at making a TVS adventure tourer, the boffins over at TVS motors too are working with something on similar lines, but only on a larger scale and together with BMW. This TVS – BMW relationship has already given us us the awesome G 310R, but there’s more coming from their side, and this time, it is a low capacity adventure tourer they are working on. Well it sure look like there might be an adventure motorcycle based on the Apache albeit with a different name badge.
