Toyota recalls 8700 units of Corolla Altis and Camry models in India

Toyota Corolla Altis and Camry models recalled

TKM (Toyota Kirloskar Motors) announced to recall 8,700 units of its Corolla Altis and Camry models in the country for inspecting the power window master switch. The recall campaign will be conducted from November onwards across all authorised Toyota dealers in India. They inspect and replace the switch (if deemed necessary) at no extra cost to the owner. The repair is expected to take approximately one hour, depending on the dealer’s work schedule.

According to TKM, the power window master switch in the specified year models (Corolla: July 30, 2008 to December 31, 2008; Camry: September 1, 2006 to July 31, 2008) may begin to feel notchy or become inoperative. This can be due to wear and tear over time of specific contact points in the power window master switch. Owners of the involved vehicles covered under this recall campaign will receive a notification by letter or by phone from Toyota. No other Toyota models, sold in India, are covered by this recall campaign.
