This spyshots of the Tata Sway (Indigo eCS – replacement) shows that the Zica-based sub-4 metre compact sedan is still very much on its way to market launch.
The Sway, code named ‘Kite 5’ or ‘Kite compact sedan’, is rumoured to be showcased at the 2016 Indian Auto Expo next month. Based on Zica’s Xo platform the Sway is reported to carry look identical to its hatchback uptill the C-Pillars, followed by stubby boot and short overhangs at the rear. The boot is expected to look well integrated into its design.
Just like the Zica, this new one shares both the petrol and diesel engine lineup with the hatchback. The 1.2-litre 3 cyl Revotron petrol engine develops 85 PS and 114 Nm of torque while the 1.05-litre 3 cyl Revotorq diesel motor is capable of 70 PS and 140 Nm of torque. Initially, the 5-speed manual transmission will be standard across the range.
