Tata Safari fans might have a reason to cheer has the company is expected to launch the new Tata Safari Storme SUV (Sport Utility Vehicle) somewhere in month of April 2012. This new SUV by Tata Motors was showcased at the 11th Auto Expo in New Delhi. With the rekindled Tata Safari Storme, the firm hasn’t taken down Tata Safari DICOR from the market and is likely to exit in future as well.

It is expected to be priced around Rs.12 lakh to Rs.16 lakh. The new Tata Safari Storme will face the tough competition with the popular Mahindra XUV500 and Skoda Yeti. The robust and true masculine design looks appealing. This new born baby comes with few significant cosmetic and technical changes including the new aerodynamic spoilers, grille, projector headlamps, tailgate and chrome tipped twin exhausts.

The interiors of the SUV are impressive as this time around the company has employed fake wood inserts, new high quality fabric upholstery, colors, and new instrument cluster and a lot more. The model that was showcased at the Auto Expo 2012 didn’t feature audio controls mounted on the steering wheel, satellite navigation etc. The car was expected to have same features as in Aria, but it seems the company skipped some of the features to bring down the cost.

Under the hood, the new SUV is powered with 2.2 litre engine, which churns out 140 PS of peak power along with 320 Nm of peak torque and is accompanied with few alterations that are inspired from Tata Aria. It offers mileage of 11kmpl in city and 15kmpl on the highways. The safety measures and handling are far better than its sibling.

Now the question arises whether the new Tata Safari Storme is as strong and a great performer as its antecedent Tata Safari? The answer here is a big yes! the car is bold, masculine and is an awesome performer on the whole. The new Mk2 G76 gearbox is easier to user and the steering wheel system has a turning radius of 5.4 meters making it best in the class. Therefore, embrace yourself and get ready to welcome the new Safari this summer.
