Back in December-2012, Fiat India officially disclosed its Indian plans for 2013, that Jeep will enter India this-year and testing of Jeep SUV’s – Wrangler and Grand Cherokee will begin by January-2013. Keeping the promise, the company has already started testing its India-bound Jeep models, now 3 Jeep cars had been spotted in Pune by Team Fiat India forum member Amogh and AutoCarIndia reader Jim Gorde.

From the spy shots, the cars seen are the Jeep Wrangler, Jeep Wrangler Unlimited and the Jeep Grand Cherokee. These Jeeps will be tested in typical Indian conditions for their performance and how they fare against the dusty environment with bad roads and high speed breakers. All these Jeep cars for India, will be offered as CBU’s initially.

According to our source, Fiat India has given their test drivers a target of achieving 150,000 kms by the end of August 2013. Fiat India will be testing Jeep across India and will also take these American made cars to test on the trecherous terrains of Himalayas in Nepal. Fiat India will be testing these Jeep cars extensively in India.

As far as pricing is concerned, the Wrangler is expected to be priced around Rs 30 lakhs while the Grand Cherokee will be priced in the region of Rs 45 lakhs. Besides this, Fiat India has revealed its plans of launching a B-Segment and a C-segment Compact SUVs in India, further discloses that the said vehicles will be manufactured in India and then will be exported to several international markets.
