Spied – Tata Indigo eCS facelift caught testing in Pune

Tata Indigo eCS facelift

Tata Motors has always being very regular updating its Indica/Indigo cars line-up. Although Tata Indica facelift has been spotted many times in different avatar (XL, 90badging, etc…) Now folks at IndianCarsBikes has spotted testing the facelifted Tata Indigo eCS in the streets of Pune.

From the spy pictures, we can make out there aren’t many changes on the upcoming Tata Indigo eCS. The changes are minor, which includes smoked headlamps (as seen in the VW Polo and Vento), new fog lights and redesigned grille. The Team ICB also reports that the new front grille that the facelifted Indigo eCS will come with, will be used on upcoming Tata cars too.

Other than the new front fascia, the rest of the exteriors of the facelifted Indigo eCS remain unchanged and the rear too looks exactly the same as the current car. Also it is speculated to retain the same engine, the 1.4-litre CR4 diesel motor that puts out 70 bhp/140 Nm or a 1.2-litre MPFI petrol engine which produces 65 bhp/200 Nm. Both engines are offered with 5 speed manual gearbox options.

In the coming months, the Indian car buyers will have no less than 4 compact sedan to choose from at the same time the Tata Indigo eCS will face a tough competition with the upcoming Honda Brio Amaze, upcoming Mahindra Verito CS and Maruti Swift Dzire (on-sale now).
