Car India reader Navjot Singh has spotted Renault Modus in New Delhi and according to the same it is expected to be launched as early as next-month. Although we earlier reported that Renault’s fifth offering might be the all-new Renault Clio, now sources on the web speculate it to be the Renault Modus. So far nothing about the Renault Modus has been officially revealed.
As we said before, Renault India had five new products in pipeline to be launched by the end-2012. The Modus will be the last model to complete Renault’s five-car plan for India, three out of which have already been launched and the fourth is due in a week’s time. The first one was the Renault Fluence sedan followed by the Renault Duster, Pulse hatchback and the soon to launch Scala sedan.
However, we can expect the Modus to carry the same set of engines as offered in the Nissan Micra/Renault Pulse. That is, a 1.2-litre petrol motor and a 1.5-litre dCi engine that also powers the Renault Duster. As far as price is concerned, the Modus is expected to be priced in the bracket of Rs. 4.5 lakh to Rs. 6 lakh and pitted against small cars like the Chevrolet Beat and Maruti Suzuki Ritz.

What we say? One thing for sure soon after the launch of Renault Modus a mildly altered version of Nissan will be ready.
