Indian car giant, Maruti Suzuki has recently unveiled the facilitated new model of Maruti A-Star which is a compact hatchback from Maruti which was not going much in terms of sales numbers. After the facelift and new features additions the sales are expected to go up. Maruti Ritz, relatively popular hatchback from Maruti Suzuki is another good car in terms of interior space, handling features and pricing is also becoming slightly dates in terms of a facelift.

Thanks to our pals at TeamBHP, who shared a spy pictures of the rear of the new 2012 Maruti Ritz facelift as the car was heavily covered with black tapes on the front and the rear logos and badge of Maruti were also covered in tape. Launched in India in the year 2009, the Maruti Ritz (Maruti Splash Concept showcases in Auto Expo 2008) has not seen any upgrade in terms of appearance and major feature change.

The Maruti Ritz Spied on a Gurgaon road does not reveal much on the exteriors, but as per our expectations from a facelift of Ritz, we expect an improved front fascia with a better looking grille design, improved headlamps and front bumper design to give 2012 Ritz a better visual appeal. Also on the lines of the new Maruti Swift 2011, we expect the interiors to get better as the competitors of Ritz offer much better interiors, so a facelift on the inside is also highly desirable.

Apart from the Interiors, the fuel efficiency of the 2012 Maruti Ritz is most likely to go up with the use of light weight body components like polymer fuel tank, lighter material used in various parts of the car, better tuning of the engine and enhanced engine technology. There might be improvements in the suspension as well. The next major launch lined up by Maruti Suzuki is the Maruti Ertiga MPV which is due for its launch by end of March 2012 or early April 2012.

If the testing is already ongoing for the 2012 Ritz, we expect the new Ritz to be launched by later 2012 which maybe a good time around the festival season in November 2012. We hope that a better Ritz will not only provide Maruti more customers, but also will ease some pressure on Maruti Swift which is in high demand as of now and is commanding months of waiting periods in India. With new 2012 Ritz on the offer some customers of Maruti Swift may consider going for higher end variants of Ritz.

Audi Q3 which is much awaited product will now soon hit the Indian roads by this june. According to Audi initially offer a fully loaded, all-wheel drive version powered by a four-cylinder, 2.0-litre, 177bhp diesel with plans to launch a 2.0-litre direct-injection petrol variant circa September. We drove the diesel in Zurich last year and initial impressions point at a soft-roader that’s adequately quick, reasonably spacious and built to Audi’s high standards. We did find the diesel a tad noisy when revved though. The Q3 has one crucial advantage over its direct rival, the BMW X1. Where the X1 looks like a hopped up Estate, the Q3 has proper SUV proportions – something that’s sure to appeal to Indian customers. Audi Q3 in India is expected to be priced anywhere between 23 – 24 lakh rupees. Also see - Audi Q3 by MTM previewed ahead of Geneva debut
