Spied – Maruti Ritz facelift uncamouflaged in India, yet again!

Maruti Ritz facelift - 001

Recently, a Team-BHP member Revved_up has shared images of Maruti Ritz AT in the forum. The image captured seems to be taken at Gurgaon plant. According to Revved_up, the car spotted was a petrol Automatic version of the Ritz with ABS option. So can we consider Maruti is planning to launch an AT variant like they did it with the Dzire? This move certainly seems to fight the Hyundai i10 AT and find few buyers in metros.

Changes to the exterior include slightly-altered front fascia starting with a more prominent chin, an updated Audi-esque grille, restyled fog-lamp housing and bonnet as we reported earlier. However on the inside, the design largely remains same expect new colour scheme and an upgraded quality of materials.

New Ritz will be powered by the same engines which already do the duty on the all new Swift and Dzire. The 1.2-liter K-series engine and the 1.3-liter DDiS (Fiat Multijet) engines will be the petrol and diesel engine. While the diesel engine will be mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox, the petrol will be mated to both a 5-speed manual and a 4-speed automatic transmission. The engines are refined and also score more on the fuel economy, the actual figures are yet to be known.

Maruti Ritz facelift - 002

Currently, there is no official communication about new Maruti Ritz’s arrival, we expect the launch will happen before this-November (Diwali). As Maruti dealers are giving discounts on Ritz even on the diesel variants from the last few weeks and the price of new Ritz is not known at this moment, there could be an upward revision of prices.

What we say? The New Ritz still lacks the funky looks of Chevrolet Beat but the broad sales and service network will definitely bring lots of customers.

General Motors India has finally taken the wraps off the long overdue Tavera upgrade christened as Tavera Neo3, the utility vehicle gets some styling tweaks including reprofiled headlights and a new front bumper design. The front grille is larger too and in keeping with Chevrolet’s global design language. Top-end Tavera variants will now get contrasting paint for the bumpers and side cladding. The interiors are spruced up too and come with a beige and dark grey colour theme within the cabin. However, the biggest change on the Tavera is the addition of a Sonalika-sourced 2-litre common-rail direct injection diesel engine. This BS 4 compliant engine will sell alongside the older BS 3 2.5-litre direct injection diesel powerplant. Chevrolet also unveiled the refreshed version of the Captiva. The SUV now exhibits a bold new look thanks to its larger and more imposing split grille. The front bumper is new too and makes the Captiva look more macho than before. Completing the update is the new 2.2-litre turbocharged diesel engine that comes mated to a 6-speed automatic transmission. The new Captiva is scheduled to go on sale within the first quarter of 2012. It has a fresh new sporty and muscular exterior design and a jet-black interior. Updates to the interiors however are not so comprehensive. It will have cruise control, a dual-row heating, ventilation and air-conditioning system, an electric parking brake, rain-sensing wipers and a sunroof.   Also see - Spied – Chevrolet Captiva facelift, yet again in Mumbai Spied – 2012 Chevrolet Tavera facelift in Manali (Updated)   Image Credit - AutoCarIndia
