Mahindra Quanto MPV - DashView

Last-year we brought you the firstever interior pictures of Mahindra Quanto, but it wasn’t this clear and now AutoCarIndia has posted some clearest interior pictures of the same. The launch of the Quanto is scheduled in the second half of September-2012. The Quanto is expected to be the most affordable MPV in the segment smartly packaged in sub-4 meter length and it will have a downsized engine to qualify for the tax concessions. Thus the price of Mahindra Quanto is expected to start from Rs. 6 lakh for the base model and Rs. 7.5 lakh for the fully loaded top-end model.

From the images, we can see the dashboard is completely borrowed from its sibling – Xylo and you could also see the second row has ample of legroom which is an accomplishment in itself with such a size of vehicle. It would surely create some nightmare for Maruti Suzuki Swift and Hyundai i20 has these cars doesn’t have space in the second row, although it is priced similar to the Quanto. Furthermore, we can see a center arm-rest, a multi-information display and Picnic Tables integrated at the back of first-row seats. And in order to attract our Desi (Indian) families Mahindra has added jump seats at the rear making the Quanto a 7-seater MPV.

The Quanto is an innovative product offering from Mahindra developed after taking into account a lot of customer feedback and research at various stages of its development. The Quanto is a versatile SUV which combines the easy manoeuvrability and compactness of a hatchback with the rough-road capability and power of an SUV, suitable for weekend getaways, making it a ‘24×7’ car. It will carry over most of the Xylo’s features and will be available with airbags too.

Under the hood, the Quanto has engine derived from the 2.2-litre mHawk engine that is on duty in Mahindra Scorpio and Mahindra XUV 500. The Quanto will have the 1.5-litre downsized avatar of the mHawk engine. Notably, despite of being downsized Mahindra has tried to keep the power output all the same. As per the reports, the new SUV engine will be of 100 bhp and it will be a three pot one rather than the four pot one in Scorpio or the XUV 500.
