Spied – Firstever snaps of 2014 Honda City

2014 Honda City - FrontView

The picture seen here is speculated to be the all-new 2014 Honda City. Recently a Chinese website named Auto.sohu.com has shared the firstever spy pictures of the upcoming 2014 Honda City spotted in China itself. However, it’s difficult to deduce anything from this shot of a fully covered car. The tail lamps are somewhat similar to the 2012 Honda Civic, so we too think its next-gen City.

Probably, we can make out that the overall dimensions of the car have been increased giving the City a more beefed up look. Keeping the dimensions in mind, we would have to say that this version of the new Honda City may well be an all new model rather than just a facelift. The other changes visible are the front grille, projector headlamps, trapezoidal air dam, LED treatment for the tail lamps and new design alloy wheels.

Under the hood, the major change will be the availability of the diesel engine option Honda’s plans to use their 1.5-litre i-DTEC diesel Earth Dreams engine for its upcoming car models including Honda Jazz and Honda City sedan. This is the same engine that will be used in the upcoming Honda Amaze. Apart from a diesel Honda City, the car will also be available with a petrol option.
