Spied – Chevrolet Sunshine in Ahmedabad, yet again!

Chevrolet Sunshine - 001

Chevrolet India has already revealed its new MPV at the 2012 Auto Expo. General Motors in alliance with the Chinese car manufacturing company Wuling will launch an MPV called Sunshine in India. Recently there was a road test of the vehicle which was spied by Team-BHP member near Ahmedabad.

As can be seen from the spy images the car has roof line similar to the Tavera and retains steel rims. Camouflaged as the front and rear may be, it houses a boxy body style and can be expected in the following few months.

The GM Sunshine is an 8 seater MPV with 2+3+3 seating layout. This MPV comes with a length of 4,305 mm, width of 1,680 mm and height of 1,780 mm and sits on a wheelbase of 2,720 mm. The MPV will be able to seat seven people comfortably and an eighth person can also fit in at the middle.

In line with the growing diesel demand, the upcoming MPV will be powered by the Fiat Multijet 1.3-litre diesel engine that powers many popular diesel cars in the country. Also, with the recent turn towards love for diesels by the customers such a move surely will help the company to get some good sales volumes.

Apart from this the MPV will also have the comfort features like extra cushioning and there is enough head and leg room for the passenger at the middle and rear as well making it a hit for large families who consider the Maruti Eeco is too small for their family and the Tata Winger and Toyota Innova are out of their reach. Owing to its Chinese origins the pricing will be extremely competitive.
