SPIED: Bajaj Pulsar CS (Cruiser Sport) 400 first sighting

A pre-production test mule of the upcoming Bajaj Pulsar CS (Cruiser Sport) 400 has been spied for the very first time. The bigger Pulsar is still largely under wraps, but it’s apparent that its identical to the concept showcased in 2014 Auto Show.

Interestingly, Bajaj Auto’s President of Motorcycle Business, Mr. Eric Vas, speaking to CarandBike, said that ‘the next motorcycle will be a big bike, bigger than anything currently on offer from Bajaj’ and this just might be it. Later the company might also introduce an RS400 variant targeted at enthusiasts who put a lot of kms on the track.

From the spy pictures note the test mule featuring fully-digital twin instrument cluster – one on the handlebar as seen in regular bikes and the other on the fuel tank. The display on the handlebar displays digital tachometer, odometer, fuel indicator and tell-tale indicators, while that on the fuel tank displays speedometer and gear indicator.

The design and features are likely to remain identical to the concept. The 373.4cc engine from the KTM Duke 390 will power the Pulsar CS400, however, expect the power output to be just under the 40bhp mark. The most expensive and powerful Pulsar ever, will compete with the likes of Royal Enfield and Harley Davidson Street 500 (export market).

Expect the Pulsar CS400 to be priced under Rs. 2 lakh (ex-showroom), when it hits the Indian market by this festive season.
