2013 Maruti Suzuki A-Star facelift - FrontView

Couple of months before we brought you the firstever images of Maruti A-Star facelift version spotted in China (sold as Suzuki Alto in China and is an entry level model like we have our Indian Alto). Now the same Chinese blog named AutoHome has caught the car again revealing most of its new curves. This facelift is expected to hit the Chinese market in 2012 and we expect that Maruti may decide to bring the new A-Star to India in late-2012 or Early-2013.

Although Maruti gave Indian Maruti A-Star a minor facelift in January 2012, yet we believe that the new model should make it to India since A-Star it has not been majorly refreshed in a very long time. As of now, there is nothing official from Maruti Suzuki about the launch of A-Star facelift in India. While the A-Star isn’t too popular in Indian car market, the latest generation of Alto has been doing good numbers in various international countries.

Front of the new A-Star is significantly improved compared to the older version. Changes include a revised front fascia with a new set of headlamps, fog lamps, grille and the front bumper. At the back too, the car will get a restyled bumper and perhaps, an all-new taillight design. But the other changes which may be incorporated in the car are unknown.

Besides these, A-Star facelift is expected to get 70mm longer whereas all the other dimensions are expected to remain same. Apart from the cosmetic changes, the A-Star retains the current 1.0-litre three cylinder K-Series engine producing about 67 Bhp. This peppy and fuel efficient engine is mated to a five speed manual gearbox and a 4 speed automatic gearbox is expected to remain unchanged.
