Spied – Nissan Sunny in Chennai

Spied Nissan Sunny

Nissan Sunny spied again at Chennai on a test run, by Overdrive reader Arun Krishnan. Arun’ spy pic clearly shows the front-end of the India-spec model, which we haven’t seen closely before. By the look of things it seems the car might reach our market sooner than we had thought.

Nissan unveiled its sedan the Sunny way back in January and it’s supposed to be sold in close to 170 countries. The Sunny premiered in China in December last year with a petrol engine coupled to an automatic transmission. In India we expect sunny to come-up with 1.5-litre diesel as well as the 1.2-litre petrol which currently powers the Micra. The India launch is rumoured to be in the mid-2012.

Nissan will not use Sunny(Bajaj) or Versa(Maruti ) as both of them have been employed on discontinued vehicle of other brands in India. But rename specifically for India, to be positioned between the Maruti Dzire and the Mahindra Verito in terms of price.
