Spied – Nissan NV200 van

Nissan NV200 van spied

Thanks to Carwale reader Mr. Jose for snapping Nissan-Ashok Leyland’s LCV. If you watch it closely there are no windows that mean it will be load carrying vehicle badge under Ashok Leyland and the people carrying vehicle would carry a badge from Nissan. Moreover, the load carrying version would not sport any windows.

One look and you can say that this vehicle is hugely practical from the word go – right from the MPV shape to sliding rear doors to the very tall back door with an extremely low loading lip. The styling is futuristic and will play its part in maintaining the vehicle’s appeal but moving to the rear, it is bland and passes off as a normal van save for the Nissan badge that will come above the licence plate.

The vehicle is huge and looks to us that it could easily carry eight passengers and the sliding doors mean that access to the cabin in tight spaces will be unrivalled. The tall back door with a very low loading point means that any heavy object can be loaded with ease. These are small things that you don’t notice on other vehicles. However, we miss the split back door that swing opens like your wardrobe.

The Nissan NV200 is built on the modified Renault-Nissan B-Alliance platform and will have the 1.5dCi engine (the same engine block used on the Renault Logan). However, the NV200 will produce 85bhp of power.  This MPV could compete with the Toyota Innova and Mahindra Xylo.
