Skoda to launch two new models by 2015

Skoda Polar SUV

Volkswagen owned Skoda will soon be launching two new models below the Yeti to form a strong crossover family. One of these models being the ‘Skoda Polar’, which is to be released in 2015 with plenty of adventure packed into it. The Skoda Polar will be shorter than the Yeti at 4.10 meters, and just like the Yeti, the Polar will have a soft styling instead of looking ‘monstrous’. The Czech based automaker Skoda plans to aim at the same customers of the Nissan Juke, Peugeot 2008 and the popular Dacia Duster SUV

The Skoda Polar will mostly be produced on the new MBQ modular platform, which is used by Volkswagen Group on some of its models – VW Golf, the 2013 Audi A3 or the brand new Seat Leon.

The Skoda Polar is expected to be front-wheel drive and can feature an optional All-Wheel-Drive variant.

The Volkswagen Taigun concept presented to the public during the Sao Paulo Motor Show is also expected to hit the production lines in near future. If the Taigun hits the market, then it’s expected to be slotted below the Polar, as a rival for the Nissan Juke and Opel Mokka. The Taigun SUV is 3.87 meters long, hence free from the four meter tax break when it comes to India by 2015.
