Here is the spy picture, courtesy of AutoCarIndia, of a new seven-door MUV from Force Motors that’s expected to receive its market launch in India sometime in the fourth quarter.

force-trax-7-doors-spiedIt’s still unconfirmed how many occupant can be seated on a Force Trax 7-door version.

You’d be never forgiven if you’ve never heard of the Force Trax – it’s one such utility vehicle targeted mostly at rural areas especially, small towns and villages. The Trax is currently sold in four avatars – Gama (9+D), Cruiser (9+D, 13+D), Toofan (11+D) and Ambulance, while it also underpins the Gurka off-roader. The Cruiser and the Toofan are slightly extended versions of the Gama.

So back to the test-mule – The seven-door version of the Trax spotted testing is believed to be undergoing homologation. It is based on the same platform as other Trax models, with two additional doors and another seating row to increase the occupant count. Expect around 15+D or more seats to be available. With this configuration, the Trax will be only available as a commercial vehicle.

Likely the tried and testing BS III certified 2.6-litre diesel engine powering the current Trax range will do the duty on a 7-door model. This 2.6-litre diesel motor produces 60 bhp and 158 Nm of torque, paired to a 5-speed manual gearbox. The exteriors and interiors of the 7-door version are expected to be basic, just like the current models.
