Royal Enfield fans might have a reason to cheer has the company confirmed the launch of the much awaited 500cc version of ThunderBird on 11th of October. Although it was speculated to be launched in mid-2013, as the company feared that it will not be able to meet up the demands of the customers. But now the issue seems to be sort out and the company is all-set to launch their new flagship model on perfect launch pad.

This motorcycle was first showcased at the 2012 Auto Expo held at New Delhi earlier this-year, and since than it has been creating a lot of sensation among the buyers & always been in rumors. The Thunderbird 500 is powered by a single cylinder 499cc Air Cooled engine which would belt out 27.2bhp of power and possesses a max torque of 41.3Nm which is the maximum generated by any other motorcycle produced in India. It is mated to a five-speed manual gearbox.

The Thunderbird 500 will be the most technologically advanced motorcycle that the Indian division of Royal Enfield has ever built, in that it will come with a range of features so far unseen on any other motorcycle bearing the Royal Enfield badge. The motorcycle will come with features like projector headlight, fuel injection, gas-charged suspension, rear disc brake, digital LCD console and the inclusion of hazard lamps in the switch gear. The prices will be announced on the day of launch.

Also there are speculations that Royal Enfield is going to replace the existing Thunderbird 350 by this second generation Thunderbird.
