Royal Enfield Continental GT535 Café Racer launched in India at Rs. 2.05 lakh
After a long wait of almost four years, the British bike maker Royal Enfield has just officially launched the Royal Enfield Continental GT535 Café Racer in India at an event in Goa. As we predicted earlier today, the bike is priced at Rs. 2.05 lakh (On-Road Delhi), Rs. 2.14 lakh (On-Road Mumbai) and Rs. 2.04 lakh (On-Road Goa). The Continental GT535 is available in two colours – Royal Red and GT Yellow. The standard bike gets a single flat seat while a pillion seat can be opted for as an option. Production of this Café Racer takes place at Royal Enfield’s Chennai facility.
Some small touches make the GT535 motorcycle unique like the round single-unit headlamp, bar-end mounted chrome side view mirrors, a simple seat with a rear hump, minimal body panels, chromed cigar shape exhaust, a rectangular tail-light with trimmed mudguards, racing type fuel tank and seat along with the clip-on handlebars, which gives perfect track riding posture. Furthermore, the up-swept exhaust is different, the exposed frame is beautiful to look at, the seat (single seater standard and double as option) with exposed stitching is rarely seen on motorbikes today.
The Royal Enfield Continental GT is equipped with a 535cc, air-cooled, single-cylinder engine which develops 29.1 BHP of peak power at 5100 RPM and 44 Nm of peak torque at 4000 RPM. The fuel injected motor can be powered on by either a kick start or an electric start. The engine is mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox. No compromise seems to have been made on the hardware as the Continental GT boasts of Pirelli tyres, twin Paioli rear gas shocks and Brembo brakes. Café Racers are famous for quick and high acceleration and Continental GT meets all the expectations.
Royal Enfield also unveiled a range of accessories for the new bike, such as T-shirts, polo shirts, leather jacket, textile jacket, shoes, gloves, helmets, performance parts etc… which will be available through their dealerships.
Royal Enfield says, ‘Find your cafe, we have built a racer.’ 😉
