Rolls-Royce has announced its Suhail Collection, inspired by a famous constellation and which will be offered on Phantom, Ghost and Wraith models. The inspiration is based on Suhail, the brightest star constellations in the night sky. The Suhail Collection has been created to pay tribute to a 10th Century Arabic mathematician, astronomer and physicist called ‘Ibn al-Haitham’ who was the first to draw attention to the fact that light enters the eye as against leaving it.
Commenting on the same, Rolls-Royce Motor Cars, Chief Executive Officer, Torsten Müller-Ötvös, said –
“Ibn al-Haitham was a notable pioneer whose scientific achievements represented a turning diploma contained in the historic earlier of science. We felt the Suhail constellation was the right inspiration for a really particular Bespoke assortment to have pleasurable his affect on Japanese and Western science.”
On first glimpse of the Suhail Collection, a prominent feature is the a unique moonstone pearl colour, recreating the color of the stars at night, while a Suhail star emblem finishes a Turchese Blue coach line as seen in the colour of the night when Suhail is actually visible. The color scheme continues inside, where Crème Light leather combines with Turschese accents, framed by a Navy Blue instrument panel top and carpets.
A Starlight Headliner features in the Phantom and Wraith, a Suhail star appears in the marquetry of the Ash Burr wood fascia, while the Bespoke clock’s face depicts the Suhail Ursa Minor and Major constellation. The collection has been conceptualized by Abu Dhabi Motors, exclusive dealers for the company in the Capital, while they were handcrafted by specialists at Rolls Royce in Goodwood, England.
