Renault India launched Fluence E4D diesel top-end variant at Rs. 15.2 lakhs

Renault India has launched the Fluence saloon with an updated diesel engine, called the E4D top-end variant. This new version is priced at Rs 15.20 lakh (Ex-showroom, Delhi). It will compete with the likes of Volkswagen Jetta, Skoda Laura and Toyota Corolla Diesel, which are priced between Rs 15.22 lakh and Rs 16.41 lakh.

“The Fluence was the first offering from Renault in India. The new upgraded variant is about our commitment to the Indian market and is a result of the feedback we received from our customers,” Renault India Managing Director Marc Nassif said.

Renault Fluence diesel E4D top-end variant

The new 1.5 dCi K9K engine under the hood of the Fluence E4D produces 110PS of power and 240Nm of torque. The new variable geometric turbo gets a simplified air intake system which allows it to perform far more efficiently. The turbo is also a low inertia one allowing for better responses in traffic. The engine is mated to a 6-speed manual transmission. The new Fluence diesel has an ARAI claimed fuel efficiency of 20.4kmpl.

The Fluence E4D comes equipped with ABS, EBD, brake assist, ASR and also ESP along with four airbags. Other features include cruise control, engine stop/start button, rain sensing wipers, chrome-lined trunk-lid and window sills, auto headlamps, rear parking sensors and electrically adjustable and foldable rear-view mirrors.

Interiors get leather upholstery, rear sun-blinds, 4-speaker music system with USB, AUX and Bluetooth connectivity, dual-zone climate control and rear AC ducts.

The Fluence comes with a warranty of 4 years/80000km under “Renault Complete Care” which the company claims is globally benchmarked. In India, it will be manufactured in Renault’s manufacturing facility at Oragadam in Chennai.
