Surprisingly, the new Vespa SXL and the VXL are offered in two engine options – 125cc and the 150cc. undoubtedly, the highlight of the new Vespa is the addition of a 150cc engine. Remember the Kinetic Blaze with a displacement of 165cc, it was the first in automatic scooter in 150cc segment in the Indian market. But at that time, the Indian market was not ready for bigger scooters.

Coming back to the new Vespa, both the Vespa SXL and Vespa VXL come with single piece monocoque steel body and a re-worked front fascia, new instrument cluster with digital display, new contoured seats, updated 11″ inch 5-spoke alloy wheels, broader tubeless tyres (110-70/11 Front and 120-70/10 Rear) and a disc brake in the front.

Of the two, the SXL is the top-end model. Visually, the SXL features rectangular headlamp with chrome finish on the borders, while the VXL features circular headlamp. Another difference is that the VXL comes equipped with the steel handle bars for rear passenger on board the VXL, while the SXL just gets more stylish leather strap.

Furthermore, both get different-colored alloy wheels, the SXL gets black alloys but the VXL gets silver ones. One more difference is on the instrument cluster, the SXL orange backlit display while the VXL gets the blue backlit display.

As said above, the new Vespa comes powered by two engines. The 150 cc, 3-valve, single cylinder, air-cooled engine develops 150 cc, 3-valve, single cylinder, air-cooled engine that develops 11.4 BHP @ 7,500 rpm and 11.47 of torque @ 6,000 rpm. A 125cc engine is retained from the outgoing-model, the same 125 cc, 3-valve, single-cylinder, air-cooled engine that produces 10.5 BHP @ 7,500 rpm and 10.6 Nm of torque @ 6,000 rpm. Both engines are paired to a continuous variable transmission (CVT).
