BMW 1-Series based MPV

The German company BMW, which is currently working on the X4 crossover and the i3 Electric car, is expected to be launched in 2014 and 2013 respectively. With these launches in pipeline, BMW is also planning to reveal the new 1-Series based MPV at the Geneva Motor Show in 2015.

This new MPV would be a seven-seater version and is expected to compete the upcoming rival B-Class, the 1-Series GT which is pipeline to be revealed globally next-year. However this new mini MPV would have longer rear doors and the stretched rear roof compared to the BMW Active Tourer concept which was displayed at the 2012 Paris Motor Show. Information regarding launch date, features and specifications of this new MPV is yet not available.

Under the hood, the new 1-Series MPV is speculated to be available in both front-wheel and all-wheel drive configurations and likely to be powered either by new generation 1.5-litre petrol or diesel powertrain, with three cylinders. Already the above said drivetrain has been tested on the outgoing hatchback of the 1-Series. The above said mechanical specifications are not official, instead believed by the auto experts!
