2013 Skoda Superb luxury saloon facelift

Skoda’s future plans for the year 2013 globally have revealed that the company’s luxury saloon, the Superb will be getting a facelifted version later this year and right after that news came out, began the hunt for the next iteration of the company’s flagship saloon. And the hunt has revealed some really interesting spyshots of the car and today we have for you a speculative render about as to how the car would look after the facelift.

The front-fascia of the car would get reworked headlamps, a tweaked grille and a revised front bumper. When we move to the rear, we’ll discover that the car would redesigned tail lamps, a tweaked rear bumper and the boot lid getting a slight make over as well. As far as the interior aspect of the car is concerned, it would better interiors as the quality of the materials used on the insides of the car will go up.

The hearts of the car are expected to remain the same ones which do duty in the current Superb. The facelifted car would not have any mechanical changes so the engines found on the current Superb, can easily fit in with the one that is due for arrival. Even though the motors will remain unchanged mechanically, we could always see addition of a new motor with a turbo charged diesel unit expected to make its way to the 2013 Superb.

The start-stop technology might make its way as well on to the car and the Indian spec Superb’s diesel motor will pump out 140 Bhp and 320 Nm of maximum torque with the help of the 2.0-liter TDI engine and the entry level variants of the car will have the 1.8-litre TSI engine as their heart. The Superb is currently the leader in the D-segment in India and Skoda might just increase the lead with this facelifted model.
