Nissan’s version of Duster images leaked, launch in October-2013

Nissan’s version of Duster - FrontView

We have already seen Renault Pulse and Renault Scala based on Nissan Micra and Nissan Sunny, now it’s time for Nissan to rebadged the highly successful Renault Duster Compact SUV with some minor changes to parts such as the bumper, headlamp and grille. Last week, Nissan India announced that its compact SUV for the Indian car market would make a debut near about the festive season of Dusshera-Diwali 2013.

Now the images have surfaced on Facebook, which seem to be official renderings of the upcoming Nissan compact SUV. While there are no badges, the body is unmistakably of a Duster, while design cues are evidently Nissan. These pictures are believed to be strictly for internal circulation and study purposes. Observe carefully, it is easy to make out that these images aren’t actual photographs but are digital renderings from some design lab.

The front fascia of the Nissan Duster is completely different from the Renault version. The front design is resemblance the X-Trail SUV, while the rear draws some inspiration from Chevrolet Orlando.  And the design of taillamps is somewhat similar to the ones we see on the Force One SUV. Apart from the restyling, the Nissan SUV based on the Duster is expected to share its parts and features with the Renault model to keep costs low.

Under the hood, the Nissan SUV based on the Duster to be powered by the same 1.5-litre K9K turbo diesel engine while the 1.5-litre petrol engine too is expected to be carried straight away from the Renault Duster without any changes.  And it is likely to be 50k rupee cheaper than Renault Duster (if the hierarchy between the two brands is followed).
