Maruti Suzuki Swift brings to the compact car segment a blend of eye-catching good looks, Japanese quality and European-inspired driving dynamics, and with prices starting at Rs. 4.44 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). Now the fresh report on Italian website AlVolante, the next-generation Swift would be ready by 2016.

Nothing much is known about the upcoming Suzuki Swift but going looking at various concepts that have been previewed by Suzuki in recent past, it can be predicted that the new car will probably get electric and hybrid variants that is pushing forward cars in the B- and C-Segment. The fourth generation Swift is expected to be unveiled at an autoshow event in late-2015.

We expect the fourth-generation Swift to hit Indian shores sometime in 2016. Although the changes on the upcoming Swift are unknown at the moment, but we’re almost sure that is will borrow some design cues from the S-Cross Concept. Besides this, Volkswagen is all-set to bring out the next-gen Polo in the next couple of years and Hyundai expected to get the next generation i20 in 2015.

The Swift brand is perhaps the most important nameplate in the Suzuki family today. The third-generation (now on-sale) Swift made way in Hungary in mid-2010 and commenced manufacturing in Manesar in mid-2011. The popularity of the Swift brand is such that over 3 million copies of the car have been sold worldwide.
