SPIED: Next-gen TVS Apache RTR prototype testing

TVS Motors gave us a preview at what the next-generation Apache will look like at the 2014 Auto Expo with the debut of its Draken concept. The design cues seen on the concept is seen on this prototype as well.

The similarities include alloy wheel design, front mudguard, body panels, gold-coloured telescopic front fork (rear gets mono-shock), the petal disc brake rotors on both wheels, the sharp fuel tank extensions, the engine cowl/belly pan, the exhaust can design, and the LED tail-lamp. The prototype uses rear view mirrors that are offered on the existing Apache. Even the production model might get the same ORVMs.

The same can be said of the power-train that will be utilised. Although the details on power-train are scarce as of now, the bike is rumoured to be powered by a 200cc, single-cylinder liquid-cooled engine that spitting-out around 30 BHP and 20 Nm of torque. Alongside, the current 160cc and 180cc motors are expected to be retained in addition to a new flagship variant displacing 200cc.

The test mule sure looks production-ready, thus, we can expect the next-gen Apache RTR to be launched sooner than expected.
