Next-gen Chevrolet Beat (Spark) in the works, production slated for 2015

Chevrolet Beat has proved to be a successful car in the GM line-up and that’s not just in India but also other parts of the world. It’s almost 3 years since the launch and nothing much have changed in the model apart from some facelifts. Just some time back GM India introduced satin trim on the dashboard and the height adjustment feature for the driver’s seat. To attract more customers GM is also offering a luring discount of Rs. 66,000 on the petrol version of the Beat.

A next-generation Beat is in pipeline and is expected to be launched in 2015. The next generation Beat (aka Spark in international markets) will be manufactured in South Korea which by far happens t be the biggest manufacturing hub for Beat for local as well as international markets. Although the Beat sold in the international markets have received a host of new features including, electrically adjustable wing mirrors, automatic headlamps and new colours the same has yet not introduced in the India specific model.

GM is expected to include all these features at the 2014 Indian Auto Expo. The company has also announced to extend the production of the existing Cruze by one year considering the success that it making globally.
