Next-gen 2018 Santro won’t have the ‘Tall-Boy’ design that gave identity to the previous model

Even after the company stopped the sales of the Santro, the dealers have received huge enquiry for the Santro and buyers wonder why the car was phased-out, this led the Hyundai to consider bringing the car back. Interestingly, this time they are against the established players in the segment.

According to a fresh report from Hindustan Times, the Santro fans needn’t wait long to see it back on the roads as the tall boy hatchback is already under development in Korea. However, the 2018 Hyundai Santro will be positioned above the Hyundai Eon, and will fill the slot currently served by the i10.

As the tastes of Indian car buyers have changed over the years, since 1998. The 2018 Santro won’t be a tallboy like the previous model as popularity of such a body style has declined. It is likely to get an upgraded version of Hyundai’s 69 PS 1.0-litre Kappa 3 cyl petrol engine with a 5-speed manual gearbox.
