Honda has always a class apart from its competitors in terms of quality and performance and that’s the biggest reason for having such a loyal customer base even though their cars were available only in petrol variants. One of the most successful cars in the Honda line-up is the City which is preferred by buyers across all ages due to its sporty handling and the luxury that it provides. Some have even converted their City’s to CNG to cut down the cost of fuel. But recently many manufacturers started offering their luxury cars in Diesel variants and that did attract a lot of buyers.

It is now Honda that has finally launched a diesel powered Amaze and as expected it became the first choice of the buyers in that segment. Although this is just the beginning, since it’s the diesel City is what the customers have been waiting for. As per a tweet from BS Motoring’s Rohin Nagrani, Honda will launch its next-generation City by December-2013. For some Honda fans this will be a dream come true. The City will be made available in both petrol and diesel engines. There has also been a buzz around regarding the next-generation Jazz, but it seems that the next-generation City will be a top priority, which also makes sense. The City will be based on the Jazz platform and is likely to be powered by the existing 1.5-litre i-DTEC engine currently used on the Amaze, with a better state of tune.

Having more cars in diesel variants will certainly benefit Honda to gain the numero uno position in the market.
