A new video of DC Avanti production version

At the 2012 Auto Expo, the most famous actor in the Indian film industry, Mr. Amitabh Bachchan, unveiled a concept car by DC Designs named DC Avanti. The production version of this car was introduced at the 2014 Auto Expo held in February. As per the reports, the production version of DC Avanti, the first ever fully Indian supercar, has been spotted on the Pune Expressway. The car is expected to be available for sale in the Indian market this year and is likely to carry a price tag of INR 25-30 lakhs.

Many modifications have been made in the production version of DC Avanti as compared to the concept. For instance, the fog-lights have been now incorporated in the headlight cluster and the now wings have been added to the bonnet to enhance the aerodynamics of the Indian supercar. The production version of the car comes with a ground clearance of 170 mm. It has 19″inch wheels and the brake system comprise of 330 mm ventilated discs at the front as well as the rear. DC Avanti weighs 1580 kg.

DC Avanti has been powered by a 2.0 L Ford EcoBoost powertrain that can produce a power output of 250 HP and a torque of 360 Nm. This engine has been coupled with a 6-speed manual transmission. The car offers a top speed of 250 kmph and can accelerate from zero to 100 kmph in just 6 seconds. The car is presently Euro V compliant, however, it can be upgraded to be Euro VI compliant.

The production of the DC Avanti supercar is likely to be started by the company in their Gujarat facility which boasts of its yearly capacity of about 3500 units. The car is expected to receive good response and positive feedback in the Indian market.
