New Maruti Ritz to get automatic variant, launch in September

New Maruti Ritz AT - Exterior

For the upcoming festive season, every car manufacturer has something special either a launch of new vehicle or the appreciable discounts on select vehicles. From Maruti Suzuki’s team, it will be the launch of new Maruti Ritz facelift that will make its entry probably in September. New Ritz will get cosmetic changes with a new front end replete with a new grille and bumper job. Apart from these, the company will add automatic variant for the Ritz line-up.

Once Maruti Ritz automatic (AT) hits the dealerships, Maruti will have two automatic small cars on the offering. The Ritz At will feature a 4-speed gearbox that will not only ensure hassle free driving but good fuel economy as well. The Ritz AT is specially aimed at senior citizens and women buyers. The Ritz AT price is expected to be priced Rs 50, 000 more than the standard variant. However, the automatic variant will only be available in the petrol variant and is not the much-wanted diesel automatic.

What we say? Maruti had earlier experimented with automatic transmission of Wagon-R and Zen, but the significant price difference of Rs. 1 lakh between the manual and automatic variants of the same never helped the company achieve fair enough sales. Then later the company came up with A-Star automatic where the price was kept considerably low and it was a deliberate effort to make this particular variant appeal to buyers.
