New Maruti 800cc car to replace M800 & Alto 800, by this-Diwali

New Maruti 800cc car - Spotted

As we reported last month, Maruti Suzuki India Limited(MSIL) plans to launch a replacement for 800, which is expected to launched by end-this year. Note that this new model is not the Cervo, instead a new car based on the existing platform of Maruti Suzuki’s Alto designed by Indian engineers and does not have any relationship with the Cervo. This car has been already spotted and rendered by AutoCarIndia magazine.

Now another fresh media report by Wall Street Journal, the new car will not only replace the Maruti 800 which is out of production by now, but also it will replace the Maruti Alto 800cc car which has seen decline is sales after petrol price hikes seen in past couple of years. Although there has been no official confirmation, supplier revealed that the Alto K10 (1000cc model of Maruti Alto) will continue to sell while the Alto 800 will be replaced with the new 800cc car.

Another supplier added, it will be a completely new car on its existing platform. We expect the new 800cc car to improve the quality, aesthetics and features to cope up with the competition and buyer’s expectations.  It is also reported, that the new 800cc car could be launched by Diwali, which falls on Nov. 13 this-year, as this occasion is considered an auspicious time by many Hindus to make new purchases.

New Maruti 800cc car - Rendered

Currently, though there is no much detail revealed about the new 800cc car we expect it to be priced around 2.40-2.50 lakh rupees for different models / variants. This price can help Maruti buyers from switching to other vehicles like Hyundai Eon which is already emerging as a significant player of entry-level small car segment.
