Yet another launch from Hero MotoCorp today, the updated version of the Super Splendor 125cc motorcycle which now comes with some new up-gradations to make it prominent in our Indian bike market. Compared to the out-going model, the updated Super Splendor gets new body graphics, new black alloy wheels and a refreshed range of colour schemes. One feature that we’re really happy about is the side stand warning indicator that has been added to the bike.

Under the skin, the Super Splendor is powered by the same 124.7cc air-cooled, single-cylinder OHC engine that produces 9.12 PS of power at 7000 RPM and 10.35 Nm of torque at 4000 RPM, mated to a 4-speed constant mesh gearbox. It takes around 8 seconds to complete 0-60 kmph and after that it can reach to a top speed of 90 kmph which is also disappointing as even many 100cc bikes like Bajaj Platina manage to get a top speed of 95 kmph, but it’s hard for this bike.

New body colours on offer are Vibrant Blue, Cloud Silver, Black with fiery red, Candy blazing red, Black with electric purple, Graphite Black and Heavy Grey. Furthermore, the 2014 Super Splendor is a very spacious bike in its segment featuring a utility box and under seat storage space. The bike has standard safety features like Pass button, front leg guard and rear saree guard.

The 2014 Hero Super Splendor has been priced at Rs. 51,250/- (ex-showroom, Delhi). It’s a smart package from Hero which offers average looks and performance according to its price. It has decent fuel efficiency and comes with all essential features. Yes, it lacks an optional disc brake but at this price, it’s should not be a big issue and we feel it’s completely worth to buy this bike. The pricing of this bike is its biggest USP and that’s what makes it a complete value for money bike.
