Mr. Narendra Modi was sworn as the new Prime Minister of India on 26th May, 2014. A few days prior to the ceremony, an interesting speculation was going around. The question was what will be Mr. Narendra Modi’s choice of wheels for his motorcade.

Since Narendra Modi was the Chief Minister of Gujarat, he was using an amazing entourage of Mahindra Scorpios. On the other hand, the ex-Prime Ministers, such as Mr. Manmohan Singh and Mr. Atal Bihari Vajpayee had been using customized BMWs. So, it was being regarded that Mr. Narendra Modi’s motorcade will feature either the Indian Mahindra Scorpio or BMW 7-Series by the German international automaker.
Mr. Anand Mahindra, the chairman of Mahindra Group, expressed the eagerness and desire of the entire company to create custom built Scorpios for the new PM. They were enthusiastic about building a fleet with all essential security features in place to offer maximum protection. Mahindra Group expressed that this will be a great opportunity and a reason for pride if they get this job.

The President of Automotive Division of Mahindra & Mahindra, Mr. Pawan Goenka, stated that it will be delight for them to see the new Prime Minister sticking to his choice of Mahindra Scorpio. Mr. Pawan Goenka also mentioned that if given the job, they will get in touch with the Special Protection Group to acknowledge and understand the necessary security statues and requirements mandatory for the motorcade of the Prime Minister of India.
