Honda Brio Amaze

Overdrive magazine reports that Honda is all-set to launch its sedan variant of the Brio, the Honda Amaze on the 11th of April in India. Furthermore, they tell us that the launch date has been brought forward from the 18th to get the car into dealerships as soon as possible. The Amaze was one of the most awaited car for the year 2013, primarily because of the fact it being the first diesel saloon car by Honda in India. The company too is anticipating a huge response for their first diesel car.

The Amaze will be powered by a new 1.5-litre diesel engine specially designed for the Indian market. Along with that Amaze will also be launched with a 1.2-litre petrol engine variant. Honda plans to launch Amaze in the entry level sedan segment which currently is led by Maruti Suzuki. The Amaze will also sport a lot of reworked exterior features, the main highlight would be the grill, newly designed alloy wheels and fog lamps. The Amaze will also be equipped with a lot of safety features like Anti-Lock Braking System (ABS), dual airbags and Electronic Brake-force Distribution (EBD), which is not available in other cars in the same segment at the same price.

Senior Vice President (Marketing and Sales) for Honda Cars India, Jnaneshwar Sen said, “The newly developed iDTEC engine belongs to the new generation powertrain technology Earth Dreams Technology that realizes both excellent driving performance and fuel economy at a high level. Amaze will be the first car from Honda to sport this new diesel engine. We feel that the contemporary style of Amaze and all the core values of Honda (durability, quality and reliability) will appeal to the growing base of entry level sedan customers.” while expressing his views on the launch of the new model.
