However, experts believe that inspite of introducing cosmetic changes to the Mitsubishi Outlander, Mitsubishi should bring in a diesel powered Outlander that will help boost sales. As per reports, Mitsubishi India sold around 33 units last month and moreover, the average per month sale is around 44 units per month. Over 1060 units of Toyota Fortuner were sold last month completely ruling. Feeling the same pains of declining sales is Honda’s SUV Honda CR-V. Honda sold 41 units of CR-V last month and this suggests that both the Outlander and CR-V are in dire need of a diesel engine.

Refresher – The limited Edition Mitsubishi Outlander has the same engine under its bonnet. The Outlander is powered by a 2.4 litre petrol engine with 170 PS and 226 Nm of maximum torque. It also has a 6-speed INVECS-III CVT transmission. The Outlander costs Rs. 25.17 lakhs (on-road, Mumbai). The Outlander has a top speed of 190 kmph and has 4-wheel drive system as standard.
