Whew! This is 2nd time I missed the chance of clicking spyshot of Mahindra’s W201 (World SUV). Last time at Ooty, atleast I got a small glimpse of the World SUV. But this time I couldn’t capture the spypics of the yet to be launched Mahindra’s World SUV that to at my hometown Mangalore. Sorry guys!
Today evening on my wayback from college at NH66 Mangalore I spotted not one but two white Mahindra’s World SUV’s both were camouflaged heading towards Kerala. I think both were playing racing one was overtaking other and it kept on rolling at a great speed for very long. The SUV looked almost production ready.
Mahindra’s World SUV gets swept headlights with day time running lights, large chunky wheels, a big aggressive grille, lights integrated in the OVRM’s and many more features which could be a first for Mahindra.
Mahindra’s W201 is first global model developed on a monocoque platform, a first for M&M. With the 2.2 mHawk doing the duty under the hood with power pumped to 140hp and a decent torque of 320Nm. The SUV could get a 5 or six sped gear box developed with the help from Ricardo.
The W201 will be positioned above the Scorpio and will be a priced at a premium tag. The Mahindra’s new SUV will now compete with Tata Aria. We expect pricing to be above the 12 lakh mark and it will be offered in 4×2 and 4×4 drive options.
According to me a company may call the W201 (World SUV), like the recently-launched Verito & all other Mahindra vehicles having their name which ends with the letter ‘O’ and now the W201 may join this ideology.
