Mercedes-Benz GLS 400 4MATIC petrol launched in India – Rs. 82.90 lakh

India’s largest luxury car maker, Mercedes-Benz completed its petrol portfolio with the launch of the ‘S-Class of the SUVs’, the GLS 400 4MATIC. Powered by a V6 petrol engine, customers will now have the choice to choose between the diesel and petrol versions of the GLS.

The GLS 400 4MATIC is powered by a 2,996cc, V6 petrol engine that produces 329 BHP @ 5,250-6,000 rpm and 480 Nm of torque @ 1,600-4,000 rpm. The engine is mated to a 9G-TRONIC 9-Speed automatic transmission and a permanent all-wheel drive system. It sprints from 0-100 KMPH in 6.6 seconds, before hitting a top speed of 240 KMH.

This 7-seater full-size luxury SUV is the favorite among the customers and is renowned for its spaciousness, ride comfort, agile dynamics and best-in-class safety features. It boasts of Harman Kardon Logic 7 surround sound system, COMAND Online and Apple CarPlay.

Priced at Rs. 82.90 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi), the GLS 400 4MATIC makes it way to the Indian shores in just three months (May-2016) of the introduction of the diesel variant. Although its being offered as a CBU now, local production is expected to start by end of the year.
