Mercedes-Benz C-Cabriolet and S-Cabriolet on-sale in India

Mercedes-Benz extends its range of cabriolets with new levels of exclusivity, comfort and performance by launching two fascinating products in India, the C-Class Cabriolet and the S-Class Cabriolet.

Mercedes-Benz C-Class Cabriolet C300

The C-Class Cabriolet is priced at Rs. 60 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi), and only comes the C 300 guise. This is the first time the three-pointed star’s least expensive convertible in on-sale in India. Power comes from the 2.0-litre turbocharged 4 cyl petrol engine that develops 241 BHP and 370 Nm of torque paired to a 9-speed automatic gearbox. It sprints from 0-100 KMPH in 6.4 seconds and touches a top-speed of 250 KMPH.

The S-Class Cabriolet will be the range-topping model in Mercedes’ Cabriolet range priced at Rs. 2.25 crore (ex-showroom Delhi). Three variant forms of the flagship Cabrio are available, but only a base model S 500 is on-sale in the country. It gets a 4.7-litre bi-turbo V8 engine that produces 443 BHP and 700 Nm of torque coupled to a 9G-Tronic automatic gearbox. It sprints from 0-100 KMPH in 4.6 seconds and touches a top-speed of 250 KMPH.

Mercedes-Benz S-Class Cabriolet S500

Both the cabriolets come with electronically foldable canvas roof – this can be raised or lowered at up to speeds of 60 KMPH, the entire process taking just over 20 seconds. The canvas fabric roof can be availed in a total of 4 colours: black, dark blue, dark brown and dark red. The C-Class Cabrio comes equipped with a Burmester Surround Sound System with 13 speakers, while the other range-topping sibling takes the speaker count to 23.
