Maruti Swift Dzire Tour now available to private buyers at Rs. 5.12 lakh

Maruti Swift Dzire Tour

Earlier this-year Maruti Suzuki India launched the new Swift DZire Compact Sedan (CS). A month after the launch of new Swift DZire, the company rebadged the outgoing model Dzire with a ‘Tour’ suffix and kept it alive by restricting its sales to the taxi market.

The Swift Dzire Tour is stripped down version of older generation Dzire available in both the fuel base variants, the petrol variant will be LXi and diesel variant will be LDi. It features the black front and rear bumpers (instead of body colored), black outside rear-view mirrors (only one side), black door knobs, stickers replacing the chrome-plated lettering on the boot and an old Swift hatchbacks’ front grille.

Now due to the overwhelming demand and long waiting periods for its new Dzire, Maruti has decided to make Dzire Tour available to private car as well. But to differentiate it from the taxi model the customer has to pay an estimated sum of Rs 12,000-15,000 to get body color painted on the front and rear bumpers, along with the door handles and outside rear-view mirrors (only one side). However to get central locking, the left wing mirror and other accessories installed, buyers will have to shell out extra.

Prices of Maruti Swift Dzire Tour (Ex-showroom, Mumbai) -

  • Maruti Swift Dzire Tour LDi (Diesel):  Rs 6.16 lakh
  • Maruti Swift Dzire Tour LXi (Petrol):  Rs 5.12 lakh

Country’s leading auto giant, Tata Motors today unveiled the new Tata Safari Strome, the latest iteration of the Safari, at the Auto Expo 2012. Among the biggest changes to the vehicle is the adoption of Tata's modern X2 platform that also underpins the Aria. The switch to the X2 platform should reap huge benefits in terms of dynamics and overall refinement. The unique looking grille and a matching air-duct with the in-vogue wrap around headlamps quite take the cake to add a certain charm to the otherwise macho-looking SUV. In silhouette, the Safari looks pretty similar to the outgoing model though the different side claddings are give aways of the new car. Styling changes to the rear include a new tail gate with the spare wheel now mounted under the body. A thick horizontal strip above the repositioned number plate is a noteworthy detail here. Dual chrome tipped exhausts complete the rear redesign. The SUV interiors matches up to the rest with the all leather beige colored upholstery and matching accessories to go with it like the leather cover on the power steering. The wooden inserts on the dashboard once again asserts our speculations on the SUV as seen on the spotted model numerous times before with an attractive instrument panel covering all the essential features on the SUV, which seem to have improved in quality. Other than the cosmetic bits, the Safari Storme can go into 4-wheel drive mode thanks to an electronic shift on the fly mechanism. The engine remains unchanged and is the same 2.2 DICOR unit which produces 140 PS of peak power at 4000 RPM and 320 Nm of torque at 1700 RPM, with a variable geometry turbocharger. Tata Storme claims to be the one to offer the best turning radius among the SUV lot apart from the most loveable feature with the Easy Shift on Fly, which enables the user toggling between the 4x2 and 4x4 drive when opted. Apart from Safari Storme, Tata Motors’ displays also include, in passenger vehicles, a Tata Nano concept, the Tata Pixel concept, the Tata Indica Vista Concept S2, the Tata Manza Nova concept, the Tata Aria – AT concept, the Tata Sumo Gold and the Tata Xenon concept. Other commercial vehicles displayed are the Tata Prima 7548.S – Concept, the Tata Prima 3138.K AT, the Tata Venture Ambulance, the Tata Ace Refresh and the Tata Super Ace (Left Hand Drive).   Also see -2012 Tata Safari Merlin SUV to be based on Aria’s X2 platform Spied – New Tata Safari Storm dropped camouflage, yet again!   Image Credit - Motorbeam
