Maruti Suzuki to launch CNG variant of Alto K10 soon

While Maruti is working on the new cheaper and more modern variant Alto 800, on the other hand their also working on its current Alto K10 CNG version. The Alto F8D ie the 800cc Alto is already available in CNG option (called Alto Green) on sale, and it is about time K10 gets it as well.

However, the good news is that Alto K10 uses 1L K-Series petrol engine that is also used by three other cars in Maruti Suzuki’s line-up, in the form of the A-Star, the WagonR and the Estilo.  So, once the Alto K10 gets the petrol-CNG dual fuel option, it can be replicated across all models in the portfolio and sales could perk up quite significantly.

The 800cc Alto CNG is available in 2 variants – LX and LXi. Therefore, we can expect the Alto K10 would also get CNG in both LXi and VXi trims. Similar to 800cc Alto, the new Alto K10 CNG is expected to carry a premium of around Rs 50,000 over the only petrol-variant and could be launched by this festive season as people tend to buy new cars during that time.
