Maruti’s MPV to take on Toyota Innova is finally on its way. The Maruti Ertiga MPV launch has been scheduled in March. Notably, the Ertiga MPV has already been showcased at the Auto Expo held last month. The Ertiga along with the recently launched Maruti Swift Dzire CS will and the upcoming SUV XA Alpha will be able to bring sale of Maruti cars in India back on track. The Maruti Ertiga price is expected to remain around Rs 7 lakh.

The MPV market in India is presently governed by Tata Aria, Mahindra Xylo and Toyota Innova. All the three are among the first three best MPVs in India and these have over a period of time bagged much response from the Indian car buyers. MPV needs of the car buyers are very simple contrary to the needs of a foreign car buyer.

The Maruti Ertiga features will be pushing it further. Availability in both petrol and diesel besides a seating for seven people will be a plus for Ertiga. In addition to this, if the new taxation policy on diesel cars comes in place, the industry believes that the Ertiga petrol besides other petrol cars will be in demand. Maruti Ertiga is expected to take no time in establishing itself in the segment as the car buyers seems to be on a watch out for a Innova like car at an affordable and if priced right, Ertiga will be giving the solution.

With positive growth in January the company expects that the new additions to the fleet of Maruti cars in India will be able to further boost sales and revive the lost activity on the sales chart in recent months.
