Maruti Suzuki being the No.1 manufacturers of cars in the Indian market was busy in developing small under 1000cc diesel engines. These small diesel engines would be soon available for Maruti’s existing small car range and is expected to make its debut in the upcoming A-Star (known as the Suzuki Alto in international markets). As of now the company is testing this small diesel engine in the upcoming new hatchback which would be showcased at 2014 Indian Auto Expo. The Alto 800 and the WagonR could also get this diesel engines at a later stage.
As per the reports obtained, Maruti Suzuki will soon discontinue Estilo since it did not obtain the required decent sales in the Indian market. Now the company is on a mission of clearing the current stock of this hatchback. Also, the SX4 sedan will be replaced with a new sedan by next year. The compact SUV could be showcased at the 2014 Indian Auto Expo and it should be on-sale sometime in mid-2014.
