Mahindra Zesto – the name of Mahindra’s next scooter?

It should by now be a well known fact to our readers that Mahindra two wheelers will soon be launching a competitor to the likes of the Honda Activa, TVS Jupiter and Yamaha Alpha scooters. The scooter from Mahindra christened as the ‘Zesto’, codenamed G101, it has been spotted multiple times while undergoing camouflaged testing and we had carried a few reports about it while it was being tested.

While we could make out the overall design of the scooter under the camouflage, the details in the design could not be noticed, but now, thanks to a reader of motorbeam.com, we can get into the details of the design elements.

We now have an undisguised picture of the front portion of the Zesto scooter and it appears as if Mahindra has gone a little out of the conventional design practices. The front of the scooter sports angular swept-back headlamps and swept-back turn indicators on the border of the front apron. The best part about the front design is the pair of air intake vents located on either side of the front mudguard, which look like miniature and more slender versions of the cooling vents for the radiators on a Formula 3 car.

Though we have only one picture of the scooter which was taken from the front angle, that one picture was sufficient enough to give out details like the chrome finish silencer guard and the silver grab rail. The Mahindra Zesto will have a few segment first features like, a locking system with a Remote and Smart key, anti-theft alarm, engine immobilizer, and find-me and guide-me lamps.

The Mahindra Zesto will be powered by a 110cc, single cylinder, air cooled motor, borrowed from its sibling, the Mahindra Centuro, with a max power output of 8.5 PS and max torque of 8.5 NM. The only change would be that, in the Zesto, it will be mated to a CVT gearbox as the Centuro is a geared Motorcycle.

The Mahindra Zesto scooter will be launched by the end of this year and will be priced between Rs. 40,000 to Rs. 45,000 (ex-showroom).
