Mahindra XUV5OO to get Voice Command Technology feature

The Mahindra XUV 500 has established its dominance in the Indian car market in just few months after its launch. The company, Mahindra and Mahindra has now stopped bookings for the internationally acclaimed model because it has already received a mammoth figure of 25000 registrations within mere 10 days of its launch. The company recently introduced the facelifted version of the Mahindra Xylo which had lots of modifications that were not present in the earlier cars from Mahindra in the same segment. One such feature is the impressive new 5 speed manual gearbox, referred to as the MT320, mated to the mHawk engine. This MT320 gearbox will also be introduced in the Mahindra Scorpio in the near future.

Further one more noticeable addition is the Voice command System technique which is not being used in any of the Mahindra cars currently. However the company has used this voice technique feature earlier too in the very stylish and Muscular Scorpio which was launched some years back. The system instructed the driver and other passengers to put the seat belt and close the doors. Though the system was not very sophisticated at that time. But the new voice command system in the Mahindra Xylo E9 instructs the driver to start the wipers, handle the cell phone, manage the music system, headlights and similar features all through vocal instructions. The most impressive quality of the technology is that the system understands the Indian accent.

On the other hand the Mahindra XUV 500 has no such voice instruction system embedded in it. The lone vocal instruction in the car is from the GPS Navigator system. The company though plans to include this voice instruction system in the Mahindra XUV 500 somewhere around the time of October 2012. The technology is expected to be embedded in an automatic model of the SUV but this news is yet to be confirmed by Mahindra. The two models of Mahindra, the XUV 500 and the Scorpio have the same engine. Thus XUV can be embedded with the latter’s autobox. The lone problematic feature of the Mahindra XUV 500 is its gearbox which could be taken care of by an autobox.
