Mahindra Reva Electric Vehicles Pvt. Ltd a part of Mahindra & Mahindra Group, is all-set to launch the NXR all electric hatchback christened as the e2O, with ‘e’ standing for ‘energy’, the ‘2’ pronounced as ‘to’ while ‘O’ signifies ‘oxygen’. So, e2O means energy to oxygen. While the launch of the 2013 e2O all electric hatchback will happen soon, we’re yet to get an official date from the company, we expect probably in March – April this year.

The Mahindra e2o is the manifestation of Mahindra Group’s vision of the ‘Future of Mobility’, which was revealed earlier this year by Group Chairman Anand Mahindra. It involves the creation of future-ready vehicles that meet the 5 C’s framework of – Clean, Convenient, Connected, Clever and Cost Effective. The Mahindra e2o is the first step in the creation of an entire electric vehicle value chain and ecosystem by the Mahindra Group.

It’s a onetime investment, no more will the hike in petrol or diesel will bother people and no more will you be a concern regarding the fuel in the tank. The Mahindra e2O price will be Rs 4.5 lakh to Rs 6 lakh. Currently, there are no competitors of e2O and it is believed that there will no one in the near future. It’s now believed that new Reva is awaiting government’s decision on subsidies to electric cars and as soon as the government announces the policy, the car will be launched in India.
